Gobble Gobble Gobble

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

We usually start a couple weeks before t-day asking the kids what they are thankful for. We do this while sitting around the dinner table nightly. It is always fun to hear their sweet answers. First, they all answer "God." Then we will go around again and get a little more. One night, I think it was the first time we did it this year, Kassidy and Kali Rose had shared so it was Kade's turn.  He said "I am thankful for God and Jesus..... and something else I am really thankful for... but I am not going to tell you guys... You will laugh. " Feeling his vulnerability, Sean and I both perked up and gave each other a look of interest, then said, "Kade, you can tell us anything, we won't laugh. We are family - we tell each other everything... " It took a little more convincing, then he answered, "fine.... (looking down with a smirk) I am thankful for you guys."

The funny thing is that this was the very thing both of his sisters had said, but for some reason, when he said it - it brought tears to my eyes. So simple, yet so transparent. I felt like in that moment he was letting us see a little part of his heart. It was monumental to me. My heart melted.

I pray that my babies will always feel safe with us. Not afraid of being laughed at or made fun of... or even being wrong. Instead, always willing to let us in to see their sweet hearts. I also pray that their hearts will always be with my Lord!!

We have so much to be Thankful for!
We got to celebrate Thanksgiving with both sides of our families and all siblings! It was great. We started out at the Clarkes on Thursday. We had a great time getting to see everyone, eating great food and relaxing!
The pic above is Kassidy and Kade asleep after a belly full of turkey - they were watching a movie with PawPaw and fell asleep.
Sean and Kali Rose took advantage of a little nap time also.

The kids loved PawPaw's motorcycle!

Saturday we had Thanksgiving at my house with my parents. grandparents, Israel and his family and Elisha and her family. We had a great time!
